Building winds on Monday didn’t do us any favors according to the BFL guides “We caught a ton of small fish, and managed to find a few good keepers.” Overall it was a slow day of fishing. Captain Jason Wagenfehr had the pleasure to wade all day with Humberto and Dan who are very faithful customers at the lodge. They punched out smaller top water plugs to fool a lot of trout. The back country was the best real estate for the liking.
Captain Steven Boldt enjoyed fishing with Linda & Gary from the San Antonio area. They were the winners in a Ducks Unlimited Banquet BFL fishing trip. Red fish kept Steve hunkered down and busy with the couple. Linda said she loved every bit of her trip, and “We’re already looking forward to a return trip.”
Captain Nick Dahlman said he tried really hard to get out of the wind, he did mention “We found fish, but it was a hard day of fishing with the Jon M. crew.” Captain Jonathan Hill & Captain David McClelland wade fished with Steve J. and guests using artificial lures. According to Steve “Each boat brought in around 10-12 fish, including a few bonus reds.” Another guests stated “We caught all the small trout you wanted.”
Monday night the lodge welcomed back Mark R. and 17-guests for a 6-boat 2-day corporate fishing retreat. Let’s hope the winds back down a bit.
The weather forecast looks like we have SE 5 to 15 mph on Wednesday with partly cloudy and 20% chance of rain.
