Capt. Kyle Hodson was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1985, and he’s been a coastal native his entire life. He was fortunate enough to have be taken under the wing of guides at the age of 16 to not only learn the business, but the intricacies of the sport as well. He received his USCG Captains License at the age of 18, and his guiding career has taken him to such respected places as Redfish Lodge on Copano Bay, and even to Puerto Rico. Being a solid family man, Capt. Kyle contributes the successes in his life to his wife and to his children.
He splits his time on the water between seasons for bass and striper in the Texas Hill Country on Canyon Lake, and for redfish and speckled trout on our beautiful Texas coastline. Kyle’s admits that his mission is to provide a service that would promote and further support the sport of fly-fishing to his Bay Flats Lodge guests through his passion, his education, his dedication, and their participation. He always strives to guide in a manner that facilitates goals and encourages positive relationships with our guests, which also includes encouragement of conservation and a wise use of our resources and fishery.
