Born in 1964 in Pasadena ,Texas, and raised on the Texas coast, Capt. Stephen Boriskie spent many days as a kid walking the north Jetties in Galveston Bay poking around for trout, flounder and redfish. He later got a boat and fished and duck hunted the coastal region of Texas all the way from Galveston Bay down to South Padre, where he realized his passion for clear, shallow water, and coastal waterfowling.
Later, as a graduate of the University of Houston with an Accounting degree, Stephen spent a bit of time in Galveston while working with a large insurance company. He later held a program manager position with the State of Texas for five years before beginning a 20-year career in sales with an Austin advertising specialty business. Throughout his early professional career, Stephen hosted hunting and fishing trips for friends, clients and fellow members of the Coastal Conservation Association. where he was fortunate in being able to teach and to learn from both novice and professional anglers and hunters, alike.
Friends and colleagues had always encouraged him to get his professional Captain’s License, so he took the leap, and the rest is history! Today, Capt. Stephen’s specialty is sight casting the shallows for speckled trout, redfish, and black drum – it’s a passion you’ll experience when you are out on the water with him. Over the years, he has adopted a motto of sorts (he even names each of his boats this, as well), and that is, “Just one more cast.” It’s a term that you, too, may learn very quickly whenever spending a beautiful day out on the water while catching a lot of fish with Capt. Stephen Boriskie.
