Capt. T.J. Christensen reporting for BFL guides. The Bay Flats Lodge guides have been talking about the weather and how the change in barometric pressure has turned on the fish. The shell has been producing limits of trout using live shrimp under a cork. They have also been catching good numbers of black drum using dead shrimp. Redfish bit had been strong using cut mullet. They are hoping the weather hold the same for a few more days.
Congrats again to Dwayne Justice! He won the fishing trip for 2 from Port Lavaca Auto Group from last weeks drawing. Enjoy!

Well their goal was to catch their limits of Red’s before having to depart early to get back to Houston. Managed a few other fish as well to take home. All fish caught under popping corks using shrimp over mud and grass. So far with the higher tides and light winds we are producing good fish on the shorelines….
Hope to see y’all out there.

Fishing has been pretty good the last few days. Weather pushed us off the water early Thursday but managed to land some quality reds and trout early and had limits of trout today with a few bonus reds. Most fish were caught over shell using popping cork and shrimp!
