The morning met my customers and I with a stiff east north east wind 20-25 knots and what looked like rain, all the guides pulled up the radar with nothing to show for it so we left the dock in hopes to find some protected waters. Before we got to where I planned on fishing we hit rain, still nothing on the radar though, very weird. I picked some shell I haven’t fished in quit some time just to be able to hang tight in case we had to make a run for the lodge being nothing was on radar so I could see how bad it was, and man did we luck out!! Easy limits of trout by 8:15 and the weather held to a mild rain. Trout limits have been the norm the last couple of weeks both with live shrimp and tails, I’ve been finding just as good results with down south lures as to throwing live shrimp under a cork.
Once we finished our trout, the guys said, “Well, we can’t get any more wet than we are”, so we went to look for redfish. We had a higher than normal tide allowing me to fish some lakes that could not have been fished the last week or so due to lower water and man were these fish hungry, using the same rigs we used trout fishing both shrimp and down south lures it only took a couple of stops to round out our redfish limit. They loved how hard these fished pulled and we had multiple double and triple hook ups. While red fishing, the boys managed to box 10 black drum also, I don’t normally target these fish but they pull just as hard as a redfish and you can’t tell a difference on the table.
All in all it was a great day on San Antonio bay with a jam full box of fish, a couple wet cell phones, and memories to last a long time. Thanks again for the business guys, looking forward to the next one.
I’ve got a couple openings this week, if anyone wants to get away from work and get bent, give the office a call and they can arrange everything needed. Tight lines and God bless!

Fortunately for this crew the weather man was way off. They flew in from Lubbock for 2 days of fishing at Bayflats Lodge. 2 boat party with myself and Capt. David David McClelland. Hopefully the weather holds out again tomorrow!

Did a solo trip Tuesday and caught some good trout over mud and shell using a popping cork with gulp shrimp. I got some days open contact Bay Flats Lodge and get on the action.
