PORT O'CONNOR BAY FISHING

May 06, 2008

How about 37 trout 3 reds on day that we thought no one would be able to fish due to severe thunderstorms and rain. Well, we did manage to get out and Norton plum chartreuse bull minnows worked best. Capt. David McClelland had honors to guide the San Antonio CCA group. According to David, “The bite was over at 10:30 AM.” I was busy with Jerry Owens and guest wade fishing with top water lures most the day. Our first wade produced a 24-23” trout, both released. We struggled to locate any steady bite, but managed to bring back 10 trout for dinner and released several smaller fish and a slot red.  Best action was over sand & grass. Water temps are 73.5 degrees. Capt. Jason & Capt. James worked hard to stay on fish while also wade fishing with lures. They also caught trout & reds and delivered a respectable catch considering the fish were very scattered with the recent high tides.

The lodge welcomed the San Antonio CCA group in for Tuesday fishing, JH Walker Trucking, and David F. and guest. Reports to come.
