FISHING WITH US? WHAT TO EXPECT.

If you are driving to Bay Flats Lodge, plan to arrive at 5:00 P.M. for check-in. Our staff will then move you into your room, give a tour of the facilities, and appetizers will be served out at the outdoor kitchen. Dinner will be served between 6:00 and 6:30 P.M. Afar dinner, you're welcome to relax in the rocking chairs on the deck, sit around the fire ring, play cards in the great room, play washers, horse shoes, or tell stories in the outdoor kitchen.

Continental Breakfast will be served between 5:00 and 6:00 and you will be met by a shuttle 6-passenger golf cart between 6:00 and 6:30 then driven to the end of our driveway to meet your guides boat parked in the water for a daybreak departure. If you plan to wade fish with lures, please meet your guide between 5:00 and 5:30. Lunch will be eaten on the boat and will consist of sandwiches, chips, snacks, cookies, and drinks. The fishing day usually last 8 hours, after which you will be brought back to the lodge to shower and relax before your drive home or next evening stay with us. 

Warm chocolate chip and white chunk macadamia nut cookies, soft drinks and bottled water will be available at all times in addition to scheduled meals

During Winter or Fall you can catch some lifetime trophy speckled trout and trophy reds while using artificials. The top water action can get hot. Wade fishing or drift fishing can be done year round for monster trout and reds. We welcome anglers of all skill levels and corporate-multi boat trips.

Each person has his or her own choice when choosing what kind of fishing they like. During the Spring and Summer the fishing is excellent while using artificials and live bait. Depending on your style, Bay Flats can offer you everything from wade fishing, shore lines, fly fishing, drift fishing reefs, or sight casting for huge tailing redfish and trophy speckled trout. Our fishing guides are the best on the Texas coast.

Things to bring

If wade fishing, please bring your own personal rod and reel, sunscreen, suitable clothing, wading boots if wade fishing, hat or cap, sunglasses and Texas fishing license with saltwater stamp .

Note: When fishing from our boats, we supply rods & reels, but your always wecome to bring your very own.

General Booking, Deposits and Cancellations

Due to limited booking dates and space at Bay Flats Lodge, we have instituted a new General Policy, effective January 1, 2006: At the time of reservation, a 50% non-refundable deposit for the cost of the entire party will be collected. We must receive all deposit checks within 10 days after time of reservation for trips to be scheduled and confirmed. This cost is to be based upon the number of people booked at the time of reservation. If, for any reason, any party member booked at the time of reservation does not give at least 30 days notification of cancellation prior to the date booked, the remaining 50% balance for that person will still be due and owed to Bay Flats Lodge. (**Does not include State Sales Tax**) If one party member assumes sole responsibility for the entire party at the time of booking, that member will be responsible for the entire 50% non-refundable deposit and will be responsible for the remaining 50% balance due at the end of their stay at Bay Flats Lodge, as well as bearing responsibility for the 30 days notification of cancellation prior to the booking date for any party member. This amount again is based upon the actual number of people for which the original booking is made. Since Bay Flats Lodge can book only a limited number of parties on any one date, we operate on a scheduling structure based upon space and guide availability. We must strictly adhere to this policy to maintain appropriate guide assignments and maximum occupancy at our facility. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you soon!
